This is the first in my Indian paintings series, from a visit to the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. I was taking a photo of this archway when this woman walked by. The traditional clothing that women wear in Rajasthan is well known for its bright colors. This woman reminded me of Hena, my daughter-in-law Shloka's aunt, who was with us on this trip. Hena's favorite color is orange and she sometimes wears her hair in a long braid.
