This painting is of a scene about a half mile from my house, in an area called High Desert. The flowers are native wildflowers, including blanket flowers (gallardia), verbena, and phlox. I had gone for a run with my new camera in a fanny pack, and when I saw these flowers, I had to capture them on film. This painting was exhibited at the Masterworks exhibition in the spring of 2000.
